I will become a Doctor, one day in the future I will look in the mirror and say “I did it!”
Firstly before any of that happens, I should introduce myself. My name is Beth Grant and I’m currently 17 years old with a whole year of exciting, new and scary adventures awaiting me. 2016 is year of very exciting adventures for me (and I hope for everyone else!) I recently went to Medlink, along with many other passionate potential doctors all to learn what it really takes to become a doctor, and I’m sure many others will agree but James inspired us all to follow our dreams! So I’m doing just that, today on the 1st day of January 2016 my journey of ups and downs begins. 2016 is just the beginning of my long road to making a change to someone’s life. Its going to be tough, hard work, even painful at times; but smile from a patient as you tell them they’re going to get better will be worth the sweat, tears, endless hours in a library. A doctor is competent, caring, compassionate, courageous and committed to their patients; but more than all of that put together they are a friend that will stick with you through the storm just to see you smile in the sunshine.
“After every storm the sun will smile; for every problem there is a solution, and the soul’s indefeasible duty is to be of good cheer.” – William R. Alger
Today is my day to shine, today is my day to make a difference, today is the start of my journey.
